  1. Copied from Facebook group: ZT Biome Jack Kerry There's a very easy way to get a copy of Zoo Tycoon 1! The game is in a category of games known as 'abandonware' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abandonware As abandonware, there is no longer any copyright enforcement on it whatsoever, and though it technically remains an 'ophan work' IP wise (and so still technically has protections under international IP law), it won't be enforced or recognised by anyone. Such works are legally preserved by museums and such all the time with no consequences. There's a website called MyAbandonWare which acts as one such 'museum' of abandonware games, and allows people to download them for free. If a game still has a legal way to purchase and play it, it will have a link to that instead of a download button, so anything you can download there is totally safe to do so with a clean conscience. Here's the link to Zoo Tycoon Complete collection: https://www.myabandonware.com/.../zoo-tycoon-complete... They also have Zoo Tycoon 2 on there if you still wanna try that! Although it's only the base game, as the Ultimate collection is not yet abandonware, as it is still available to buy on amazon (as evidenced in your post)

The Red Panda is an original new endangered animal, compatible with Zoo Tycoon 1 (no expansion packs needed). You might also hear this little critter's unique cry once in a while. From Wikipedia: The red panda (Ailurus fulgens), also called the lesser panda, the red bear-cat, and the red cat-bear, is a mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. It has reddish-brown fur, a long, shaggy tail, and a waddling gait due to its shorter front legs; it is slightly larger than a domestic cat. It is arboreal, feeds mainly on bamboo, but also eats eggs, birds, and insects. It is a solitary animal, mainly active from dusk to dawn, and is largely sedentary during the day. - Design by Vondell - Configuration by Jeff (to admins: please test this animal once more, I'm using a slightly different version which was stable in my game. Vondell's been active for a bit, but I'm sure he's okay with publishing this first version of the Red Panda)

  3. From Jay: If one is extremely careful while using a map editor, it is possible to do so with animals, guests, and staff in a zoo. But since it is easy to do something that confuses ZT, I recommend to pause ZT, delete the zoo entrance, save the zoo, reload that saved zoo, and pause ZT again right away, so that zoo activity does not occur. Then make changes while ZT is paused, add the zoo entrance, possibly click on the zoo entrance to change the zoo name, save the zoo, exit ZT, remove the map editor, then go back into ZT to do any additional editing. Of course, I always recommend the Developer Map Editor instead of the ZA Map Editor, although the Developer Map Editor takes a little more effort to set up initially. However, for the mentioned problem, there might be an alternative to using any map editor. It might be possible to raise the terrain for the entire exhibit so that it is no longer hidden by the hills outside the zoo. Then when done editing the exhibit, the terrain for the entire exhibit can be lowered again. But of course if the hills outside the zoo are not desired in the finished zoo, then a map editor would have to be used.

  5. Earlier today, I just finished the third (maybe the biggest) section of the Thawed Out Park... The Mega Tusk Plaza! Who lies beyond those bulky gates? The ancient relatives of the elephents, of course! Might you guess what are the six members of the neighbourhood? 🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘 (All of the ivory used for the scenery is obviously imitation 😉😉) Sneak Peek!

  6. Years ago we had a Halloween contest using this map, it was a lot of fun and there were some really creepy zoos, deep in a dark cavernous hole in the ground.
