  1. Hi everyone, I’m really happy to finally be part of the Zoo Tek Phoenix community! I’ve been a long-time fan of Zoo Tycoon. My name is Miguel Ángel. I’m excited to download some mods to enhance my zoos. I used to play the game as a child, and now I’ve started playing it again. I really enjoy trying to create the perfect exhibits. Thanks to the admins for having me. Best regards, Miguel Ángel

  2. Hello all! Sorry I haven't been as active as I was on here. I was going through a heart monitor study for SVT (arrythmia) and I also had some other personal life things going on outside of ZT1. I am going to put the new bird zoo on the back burner for now (it's not cancelled!) and hold off on making more zoos until Hawkeye's Australian bird pack is released (super excited about this one). I have completed two zoos recently, one being the Surf 'N' Turf scenario (this one was fun to build!) and one that is themed off of the Pacific Northwest using the Marine Mania 'Islands' map. I'm also planning on making an African and Australian themed zoo in the future using a majority of my African and Australian savannah animals. Even though I already made a smaller African savannah zoo before, I really want to try out the 'Ancient Land's' zoo map and build the ultimate African/Australian hybrid zoo. I feel like my zoo building skills are starting to improve. I've been watching The Checkered Cheetah's/Thunder 55's videos on YouTube to get inspiration and I felt like I've gotten the hang of building amazing yet efficient zoos. 😊❤️

  9. I haven´t released my budgie? I´ll release it in some time (now I am quite busy with my real life work, next week I am going on a holiday so I have a lot of things to settle before). So at worst I´ll release it after I return. Budgie + some friends.

  16. From Jay: Trash bins, including picPbfTrashCanBear.ztd, are configured to allow access from all 4 sides. ZT will have the guest use the closest unblocked side, though usually (but not always) tries to keep the guest on a path. Therefore it doesn't actually matter which direction the trash bin faces. But when there is a concern, rotate the scenery purchase menu view so that the benches face to the bottom right. That will make all the objects in the scenery purchase menu have their main view (called the SE view) facing to the bottom right.

  22. Thank you so much for the kind response! I didn't realize I could post updates in there. I'll definitely keep that in mind! I was diagnosed with supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and I've been hospitalized several times for it. I get what I consider to be "chest spasms" where my heart rate goes very fast and I get chest pain as well as pain in my arms and shortness of breath. Every time I went to the hospital for it they gave me adenosine (which calms down the heart). They had to administer it TWICE the last time I went to the emergency room for it. It really sucked. I've played the first Zoo Tycoon as a kid and I have a lot of nostalgia for it. I also didn't realize that you could download mods for it until I rediscovered Zoo Tycoon September of last year. In my honest opinion, mods seem to make the game even more fun for me (especially with a lot of animals to choose from and new restaurants!) I'm glad to be in this community and sharing my passion for animals here on Zoo Tek Phoenix. 💕😊

Hawaiian Restaurant Author: Devona (original graphics) and Mark Bell (original configuration) Guests will appreciate being able to enjoy Hawaiian food and watch the hula dancers. Created before the release of the Dinosaur Digs (DD) expansion, the original zip used an exe that overrode the ingame dll and used IDs that Blue Fang used in the DD expansion for fences. With updates from casey and Jay, we are now releasing it back into play. The messages are in langZA03.dll. The purchase menu name is "Hawaiian Restaurant", while the purchase menu tooltip uses the more specific name "Aloha Grill Restaurant". Enjoy. (Configuration notes: removes money; removes any trash; can also be seen in the User Food/Drink purchase menu filter.) Original Release Date: February 2, 2002 Current ztd date: July 4, 2026 Updated: In 2009 by casey to fix the graphics so that the entrance is in the correct position in both front views. Updated in 2009, 2019, and 2026 by casey and Jay to have the animation speeds match for all views, to have it also appear in the User Food/Drink purchase menu filter, to have the messages no longer conflict with DD messages, to have a proper restaurant guest thought, to increase the purchase price and use costs to be more in-line with ZT's restaurant, to remove money and any trash a guest may have, to add ZT's restaurant sound, and to remove unnecessary files and configuration lines.

The Red Panda is an original new endangered animal, compatible with Zoo Tycoon 1 (no expansion packs needed). You might also hear this little critter's unique cry once in a while. From Wikipedia: The red panda (Ailurus fulgens), also called the lesser panda, the red bear-cat, and the red cat-bear, is a mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. It has reddish-brown fur, a long, shaggy tail, and a waddling gait due to its shorter front legs; it is slightly larger than a domestic cat. It is arboreal, feeds mainly on bamboo, but also eats eggs, birds, and insects. It is a solitary animal, mainly active from dusk to dawn, and is largely sedentary during the day. - Design by Vondell - Configuration by Jeff (to admins: please test this animal once more, I'm using a slightly different version which was stable in my game. Vondell's been active for a bit, but I'm sure he's okay with publishing this first version of the Red Panda)

Also includes scrub brush foliage, preferred by the Long-billed Curlew. The largest and most widespread heron in North America, the Great Blue Heron can be found along the ocean shore or the edge of a small inland pond. Although the Great Blue Heron eats primarily fish, it is adaptable and willing to eat other animals as well. It nests in colonies, sometimes as a lone pair. Source: http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Great_Blue_Heron/lifehistory The Black Stork has shining black with iridiscent reflections. The rest of the plumage is pure white with red beak and feet. It can be found hroughout Europe, north to Scandinavia and west to Russia, and is primarily a forest species hunting in streams, small rivers and marshy ponds. The diet consists almost completely of small fish; also small mammals, reptiles, shellfish and insects. The Long-billed Curlew (Numenius americanus) is the largest shorebird in North America. It breeds in shortgrass or mixedgrass to very dry grasslands. Long-billed Curlews are a late-maturing, long-lived species with low reproductive output. Eggs are olive-buff and are evenly spotted with brown or gray. Source: http://www.abheritage.ca/abnature/speciesatrisk/curlew_intro.htm The Trumpeter Swan, Cygnus buccinator, is the largest native North American bird, and the largest living waterfowl species on earth. These birds have white plumage with a long neck, a black bill subtly marked with salmon-pink along the mouthline, and short black legs. They feed while swimming. The diet is almost entirely aquatic plants. The Trumpeter Swan is listed as threatened in the state of Minnesota. Inspired by the Zoo Tycoon Brains Trust at Zoo Tek Phoenix. Updated 2010-11-21 to save space with less in zip.

  37. I didn't want to animate every single foodstuff with the relevant mimed gestures because it's not one of my strengths yet. But really I just really didn't want to lol. What I ended up trying to do was make a generic "look at me I'm doing things with my hands and *slap on counter* there you go". And if it was real life they'd also be like "the tablet is just going to ask you a quick question." The idle animation is just him looking back and forth. Can be seen in the animated group screen above with all of the stands together.

Red Dragon by Lehner The red dragon is the most frequent member of the dragon family. Often people think that dragons are evil beasts which destroy fields and villages, though most dragons are peaceful carnivorous lizards. They eat everything, from berries and fish to amphibians, reptiles, birds, rodents, deer and also other carnivores like bears or wolves. In the winter time they sleep in caves on mountains or behind waterfalls. The file contains a beta version of the red dragon and the dragon tree (the red dragons favourite object). I might make some updates for it later. Originally Released March 2, 2004 at Zoo Admin Updated : 20 July 2009 by genki to fix all animal warnings and 18 Aug 2009 by fern to update tree. This is my first hack: the Base Shelters Hack. The following changes were made to the capacity of the base game shelters: - Small Wooden Shelter/Small Stable/Small Burrow/Small Concrete Shelter/Small Lean-to/Small Elephant Shelter/Small Giraffe Shelter = 10 - Wooden Shelter/Stable/Burrow/Concrete Shelter/Lean-to/Large Elephant Shelter/Large Giraffe Shelter/Dinosaur Burrow/Ice Age Cave/Dinosaur Cave = 25 - Large Wooden Shelter/Large Stable/Large Burrow/Large Concrete Shelter/Large Lean-to/Sunken Ship/Seafloor Cave/Rock Cave/Snowy Rock Cave = 50 THIS MUST BE PLACED IN YOUR /dlupdate FOLDER TO WORK FULLY, OTHERWISE SOME SHELTERS MAY NOT HAVE THE INCREASED CAPACITY. This hack is for players that do not like to have more than one shelter in any given exhibit, like myself. This hack provides edited .ai files for each non-user created shelter to increase their capacity and eliminate "There are not enough shelters in the exhibit." messages. I have been using variants of this hack for many years (similar to the Double Capacity Shelter Hack, however this one includes all shelters and makes their capacities even higher). I have tested this hack thoroughly: I've observed as many as 40 Zebras in a single exhibit with a single Large Wooden Shelter, with no issues appearing. I have had no known bugs from the .ai files that encompass this hack. The screenshot showing the hack in action with a Penguin Exhibit using a Snowy Rock Cave that earned the Penguin Colony award (16+ Penguins in a 90+ suitable exhibit). If you have any issues or discover a bug, please let me know.

This is a hack that changes food piles so that they can be placed on water terrain. It's especially efficient if used with a swimming staff hack, allowing for full versatility with exhibits without any sort of problem keeping animals that require water in a majority of their exhibit well-fed and attended to. NOTE: This is a hack of ZT's land food. It will conflict with any other food hacks. Used without any other food hacks, it should work just fine.

  50. Are you asking for ZT1 or ZT2? For ZT1: Almost every item that you download will be zipped (all of Tek Phoenix's should be zipped, but some sites don't zip theirs), so the first step is to unzip your item. You'll now have a .ztd file, and possibly a text and picture file. Any .txt or .jpg you see are just for your information, and you can put them anywhere you like. The .ztd file goes in your game slightly differently if you don't have the Complete Collection, so I'll tell you both ways: If you have CC, the .ztd goes in your dlupdate folder, usually found here: C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Zoo Tycoon/dlupdate folder If you don't have a dlupdate folder, then put the .ztd in your Updates folder C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Zoo Tycoon/Updates folder Any .dll files you download go in your main Zoo Tycoon folder C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Zoo Tycoon For ZT2, there are various ways to install the files, but here is the easiest (in my opinion): Unzip and place the .z2f file in your Zoo Tycoon folder, which is usually found here: C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Zoo Tycoon 2 folder
