  1. I am constantly changing ideas and parks but now I finally got one! Welcome at 'MAMMALIA'. Mammalia is a small mammal sanctuary that houses eleven different animals. Most of them from the 'fur farm' pack which I love. Let me show you around. /// Here is the zoo map: It all started with this central terrain setup. The main building is designed like a rodent nest. Visitors walk around through tunnels that end up in an indoor viewing area. The roofs are covered with grasses and in the middle there is a big terrace to picknick. Entrance to the main building: Near the entrance is the emergency department. Where animals can rest after surgery. When going to your left (outside). You will find our first inhabitants. Lesser Grison (L) and European Polecat (R) On the other side of the path you will find Skunk (L) and Racoons (R). The racoon enclosure is viewable from indoors. After these four exhibits. Visitors will need to go inside. When walking through the first tunnel you will end up in a viewing area. This will bring you to the martens. Beech Marten (L) and Pine Marten (R). The tunnel 90° onto Marten tunnel brings you to the Malayan weasels. Also a small toilet building can be found here. Small picknick tables and restaurant. Outside we have two desert enclosures. Fennec foxes (L) and Marbled Polecat (R) Here you can dive underground again to find another indoor viewing area (onto Coati) and the way to go up on the roof terrace. Here you can buy a snack and a drink to take onto the roof. Last tunnel brings you to the Wolverines. The pixelled screenshot shows it all :- ) That was it! I hope you enjoyed it. I certainly did whilst creating this small sanctuary.

  2. There are known limits to the game. The link Heather posted is a must-read for you to understand these limits. Be sure and check it out when you can.

  4. As I said yesterday, I wanted to build the Forest Tarpan exhibit: Struthiomimusgate found no solution - I had hoped giving up on Cryolophosaurus would be the solution, but the damage was done. This was only a temporary "fix". Happiness never quite returned, too many feces kept being a problem, and too many animals as well: I thus adopted red-fronted gazelles (giving up on strictly terrained areas) and Ophistocoelicauda: The last exhibit I built is one for the Chiru. Mountainous and cliff exhibits aren't that complicated, after all. You can also see a Dinictis exhibit. And here is the Dinictis in full: The revamped Arctic Fox: I also gave up on scimitar-horned oryx and just granted the whole area to my beloved Paraceraterium. Here you can see the actual Dinictis:

  5. A bit more progress: Not all that much, but I really wanted one typical savannah animal. Otherwise, I mostly reworked and expanded exhibits. I significantly expanded the Arctic Fox exhibit at the cost of the American Bison. As a non-ingame typical savannah animal, I chose the eland. I love Rhoetosaurus, by the way, as well as Lambeosaurus. I have no solution to the Struthiomimus issue though - they continue breeding like rabbits! I have considered sacrificing Cryolophosaurus (spelling?), but I still don't really have a solution. I did notice that there were no sporred tortoises left (probably, they died of old age, their exhibit was absolutely fine) - and thus I could make the Persian Leopards happier. And yes, a section of path is cut off... As I already said, deciduous forest is probably the most neglected terrain type (or the mods that I downloaded are biased?), and thus I'm gonna to build a Forest Tarpan exhibit.

  6. Fuller and fuller :- ) Now with exhibits of wild pig, red deer, roe deer, koala, wolverine, skunk, racoon, fallow deer and moose (with young). Nearly 500 guest already at an entrance fee of 50 dollars haha here a small mammal visitor centre with racoon, skunk, koala and wolverine. Iron fence and horizontal protection so the animals don't climb out.

  7. Big centre with terraces. Around the building curved iron fence exhibits of deer (red and roe) and wild pig. The start of a bigger park.

  9. More building was done, more colours were tested, and some exhibits were changed/remodeled... First, an overview: the remaining free space. There is some below, but not too much remains: Kouprey, Saola, American Bison, black Panther, Uintatherium and spotted cuscus, together with some parts of other exhibits: The centre and the "left-wing" exhibit. Of course Merychippus is apolitical. And I didn't know that Arctic foxes and - much less - Struthiomimus breed like rabbits! The original built-up area. I might give up on Scimitar-horned oryx or remake this area at some point. My newest exhibit, to be completed tomorrow or soon. I don't know whether anyone can guess from the eggs alone which dinosaur is going to hatch here? I wanted at least some coniferous/decidouous forest animals (the latter, I think, is the most neglected terrain type!), and I chose Lambeosaurus: Unfortunately, Rhim Gazelles were never really happy and never was their exhibit all that suitable (although "suitability" was claimed by the veterinarian info). And soon, I noticed that only one sole Goitered Gazelle remained. Quickly, I added more and merged the two exhibits, selling the Rhims. A closer view with an actual Okapi visible: The Arctic fox exhibit came from the as-of-yet unused green fenced exhibit, but I decided to recolour it more fittingly for a polar one. You can see a Kouprey, but I doubt you can see a Saola here:

  10. Third: Seeds Several things have changed since the first visit of ARC Headmistress Coyolxauhqui forward the Cenote Natural Area. At the beginning, it was obviously a basic need the obtain of a team and facility for the right care of the animals sent by ARC from qualified veterinarians. In a couple of months, meanwhile a small team was building the clinic, a second squad lead by vet Félix Manchado developed the new home for Yum Kaax. Félix is now responsible of the jaguar's welfare! The headquarters' sentries are no cops hired by Cauich. His guards are a better team: The peace of the air running through the branches of the trees merges with barks and frolics, as Canek sweeps the doo left by the hairless members of a pack, those who aproach to customers and sniff them from head to feet. At dawn in a friday, before the park opens, an odd noise intrigues Canek. He's waiting for someone on that day, but it seems that the visit is coming several hours earlier. At the time that the wheels of a huge truck creak against the pebbles on the other side of the park's wall, the sole of Canek's boots bear all of his weight in every wide stride with which he hurries to the meeting with the vehicle at the entrance. - What's going on? - wonders Félix, who is arriving at the same time, after looking at Canek's appalled grin. - The vistors! - mumbles Canek. - Wasn't it at...? - Nope! Shush! - halts Cauich. From a truck with ARC emblem, a lady with a hat and sunglasses goes down. She's driving alone. The woman walks to the park gate, where the two men stand still. - Good morning fellows! - shouts the vistor. - Excellent day, miss Virginia Robles! - answers Canek - We were craving because of your visit! - Thank you so much! You must be Sir Canek Cauich, the park manager, isn't it? - inquires Virginia. - That's right! - says he - Let me introduce you to doctor Félix Manchado, entrusted of the jaguar area. - Nice to meet you, doc - Félix replies with a hand shake and a head shake -. Headmistress Aduna-Pacheco is more than only satisfied about your work with Yum Kaax's care. They three start walking inside the park. Virginia formulates short questions and Canek makes broad answers, while Félix just laughs silently after their funny sentences. Meters after, they stop right in front of the Pyramid Restaurant, still closed. - Isn't ornithologist Lorena Rojo coming with us today? - requests Virginia - Today, my main activity is to assess her performance with the birds that Headmistress Coyolxauhqui previously sent for their rehab. - She's reaching us later - replenishes Canek -. Until then, you may take a look at the aviairy designed by her, where the macaws and toucans rescued from ilegal trading now fly safe. A structure composed by glass and steel bars stands tall behind the restaurant. Two golden bird statues extend their wings, ready to take flight alongside the bright, colorful birds that dwell in there. Virginia takes a walk inside the cage, she watches, judges, assents and, eventually, concludes: - Not bad. Not bad at all. However, I have some points around that may do it even better. I'll converse alongside Lorena when both of us have the time. Until then, I'm going back to the city for a lunch. - How? - asks Canek - Aren't you staying with us? - Of course I am! - exclaims Virginia - Actually, I'll stay for some days, maybe for a whole month. I got work for you. - Excuse me? - ARC rescued animals hit by a car last week. Some fool guy ran over them. Pitifully, some of them didn't survive, but our team healed two opossums and a bassarisk. They are stable and we want you to start taking care of them at your park. Now, if you and doctor Félix help me bringing them from the truck... Each one picked a cage and toke them to the park. Once they were placed, Virginia got into the truck again. Inserted the key and the motor starter roaring. - I'll put this in your wise hands, Sir Canek - said she from behind the steering wheel -.Once the animals get their own exhibit, I'll work on them. I'm also considering the possibility of moving to Yucatán and devote fully on them, just like Coyolxauhqui does. I'll meet Lorena later. Have a nice day! - Wait... What? The vehicle went backwards and then disappeared in the road between the foliage. - What am I suposed to do now with these?

  11. And thus (i.e. because I love them, too), I downloaded the rest of @Fern's coloured fences today - and already put them to use. A black fence of course befits the black panther. I also filled up my rainforest area - now it's an area of rare and extinct species from the Kouprey and Saola to the Okapi: These exhibits are planted up - some to 90 % - so that the animals might not be visible. I started to plant up the Uintatherium exhibit already, but that'll continue tomorrow. And I of course noticed that I might have to replace the fence for the stronger "steel and concrete" one. I use coloured steel-and-concrete fences almost exclusively, for both extant and extinct animals from a spotted cuscus to a Paraceratherium or Struthiomimus. And yes, I love pink even as a man!

  13. I started a zoo again, and this is what I've got until now: I first made the "visitor area", before my first exhibit. I then spontaneously decided on the Tundra Gold-Winged Dragon and the scimitar Oryx. The next exhibit was devoted to Paraceratherium (the desert type, which I like more than the Savannah type). I at first tried to keep Rhim Gazelles and Goitered Gazelles together, but their needs are not compatible, thus, I separated them quickly.
