  1. Oh the Hot Dog Stand looks cute, and will go with several shaped buildings in the database for ZT1. And I dont think you need a fresh coat of paint on the Forgotten Spire, its perfect for Halloween zoos, and would be nice if it was neutral so it could go into exhibits as well. If people want to use it as an actual building they can add the Welcome Mats or Configured Doors. :D

  3. I had enough working on ungulates, so I made something on side. I also reworked my Persian Leopard, now the end of its tail doesn´t dissappear in the ground while doing some animations.   5. A few nights ago i removed 68 foliage files from an old pack I combined because I just wasn't using them, so now I have lots more room for more animals 😊

  6. OH. I see where the confusion lies. The balloons would pull the vendor up. Essentially I would animate the vendor (I'd have to model a new one) and the transaction animation would be what I described above. Here's an incredible drawing to describe what I mean:

  7. From Jay: Yes, there is a limit of how many things can be in the same purchase menu. But the only thing I actually tested was the number of things in the scenery purchase menu, and that limit was 3000. It is possible that different purchase menus have different limits. It is also possible that young animals count toward the limit in addition to adult animals, or if the female graphics are different than the male graphics that they also count toward the limit. But I do not know because I did not test this. Also when I tested, it was with the original ZT, which did not have purchase menu filters. It is also possible limits changed when they added the purchase menu filters. And I cannot rule out other problems. There was the problem with the animal info when the bezoar goat and scotts horse were in ZT folders at the same time, even though they each worked when only 1 was in ZT folders. I never got around to figuring out what caused that. And since I do not know the cause yet, it is possible whatever caused that is causing other problems.

  9. That is doable. Only other problem is that the balloon would go into the guest inventory and not be seen, like putting something in a pocket. Pity as it would be nice to see guests wandering around with their balloon.

No mod drop until closer to Monday but I have two updates: ZooBerry now has its own forum: https://forums.zooberry.org/ ZooBerry itself (the mod database part) has updated its domain: https://www.zooberry.org/ Although they look the same, they're technically on two different servers. That means if the forums ever go down, mods should still be available on the main page along with downtime news. It's a mod-centric board and at least in the beginning until it attracts more users, you'll likely only see me posting on there, but I am diligent and do invest in my projects 😂 Consider it a Goosifer blog with the option of replying. In all seriousness: it's also meant as a support board for the OpenZT team projects including EMU and ZooBerry, and all of the other unannounced Zoo Tycoon mod tool projects we have planned. I'm interested in our projects getting attention organically and I'd assume activity would scale with the number of people that use our tools in the future, whether it be one month or two years from now. Here's some context behind my question in this thread: Easiest ZT1 mods to get started My summer research ends this coming week which means I am now jumping back into the mod-making fold before school starts. To catch everyone up: I have zero idea how to make mods anymore. I can make art assets, but the rest might as well be black magic so if you're willing to be my configuration partner, I'm game! Before I go back to making the fennec fox and start work on the balloon stand I signed up for, I want to stretch my legs with some 'easy' projects. I only say 'easy' because I have the art assets mostly finished and I won't worry about animating anything. Here are my 'low production' projects I am working on over the next week (I made these 3D models 15 years ago...): Hot Dog Stand (I thought I had lost this model but I believe whichcraft rules state that if you utter a name in a certain cadence you summon the thing, so I blame it on this thread): Forgotten Spire: I made this ugly thing for Zoo Tycoon 2 but it should be good practice to port as a scenery item in ZT1. I think I'll give it a fresh coat of paint to make it more appealing.: (click on the pictures if they show as too dark) Coincidentally, I never did release that spire for ZT2 so it will be part of the next ZooBerry mod drop.

  15. And I also took away every user-made .ztd out of updates/dllupdates folders one by one and ran game after it, bug occurs every time. So I think there is no problem with userr-made .ztds. It´s Zebrasorus´ juvenile lion model, with some little edits. https://zt2downloadlibrary.fandom.com/wiki/Lion_(Zebrasorus) EDIT: tibetan fox would be awesome, my favourite fox species. EDIT2: I made some custom edits before, sometimes much bigger than this lion. Slender-billed vulture was the first I released, I think. Unfortunately, I can´t make a texture.

And a little math: Bug starts to occur when I have at least 1968 animals (counting ingame ones). 3,000 limit isn´t reached even when I count sexually dimorphic animals as two for one (that´s just plus 273 animals). Also, I created .ztd that brings my current animal count just to 1968 (and starts bug), and when I delete two not-sexually dimorphic and add one sexually dimorphic (Ghirin´s northern cardinal), bug doesn´t occur (it would if it counted as two different animals).

  20. Problem is not with Scot´s horse and bezoar goat was in bezoar goat - I reworked it and now they both work together (before, zoos with bezoar goats crashed sometimes, now, no crashes). New bezoar goat will be released along some other files with the next ungulates pack. Young probably do not count toward the limit, because then I´d reach limit much sooner.

  21. I like it the most too. Surprisingly, you can keep them with my barbary stag, cuvier´s gazelle and barbary goat, they don´t seem to mind... When you keep so many downloadable files, haven´t you had the same problem I described on page 115 of this topic (animals purchase menu not working when using All filter)? It is when I have about more than 2,000 animals.

  24. The red part is the part not doable. We know how to link to known guest animations but not how to add new guest animations. At least not without problems and needing the guest hack. Although it could not hurt to have a chat with Jay as to whether there would be an alternative way The vendor part is doable. You might want to ask Jay to get the graphics as we can get the file in parts - like the vendor separate.

  25. By guest part do you mean in reference to the balloon stand? Yeah I shouldn't be too confident about what I'm thinking up until I try it I suppose. Absolutely, that would be great, thanks. I'll see about texturing the stand over the weekend and then I'll start the thread over at DD. I wouldn't know what to do after I have the sprites ready.

  26. The guest part probably not as that would involve a guest hack. If you want to use one of the ingame carts and vendors as a base with re-modelling of parts that is doable and we can probably give you the parts to play around with. I could see the hot dog cart being a good starting point.

  27. Hi, I love your mods, especially pterosaurs and kitties. But I noticed that some of them are quite big in comparison with ingame animals (for example Cuban giant owl, Argentavis, Baptornis...), so I want to share one tip, which you may already know, for better scaling. Run APE while running Blender, make sprites of one animation (I use walk or subswim animation) into some folder, and load sprites into the same animation of animals you want to compare them with. I generally use related animals and also animals that are compatible with animal I am making for comparison. Then you can see whether you should increse/decrease the size of the animal). If your animals are made this big on purpose (to better see animations), then ignore my nitpicking.

  28. I like that stand! I'll post up some 'concept art' later but I want to go a bit whimsical on mine; I think my awful humor would go well with the game 😂. My stand will have a tiny man strapped with a bunch of balloons around his waist. When a guest makes a transaction and the man's hand extends toward the guest to hand over a balloon, the mass of balloons will pull him upward a little, butt-first. And okay will-do, thanks Fern! Edit: with the caveat that I have no idea if I can accomplish this but I'd like to see how far I can take it lol But anyway, that's a project for much later.

  29. Yup! The first idea was that the pack would include tyrannosaurs as well in addition to dinos... But I only had Yutyrannus made on time... The new version will just consider Yutyrannus as a part of tyrannosaurs and its slot in other dinos will be replaced with new animals 🦖🦖
