Great ideas @fountain and @Truly_happy, thank you! Uni starts back up tomorrow so I'll be quietly slinking into the shadows for the next few months. No more mods for a quite a while I'm afraid. You'll likely see the the balloon animal stand up and available within the next couple weeks though! Normally I like to tease my next project at the end of a previous one but all I'll say is I will have plenty of goodies ready for the holidays again. :) Look out for my hacking projects though, that might get some new life soon...code is a lot more accessible to me at school. Can't say any of it would be as interesting as a dancing clown. Thanks for following my updates and see you later! It was fun.5 points

I was just about to report that several of your birds do not swim in tanks but then I realized you'd made this post ages ago and I should have just read that first lol 😅 (opened up in one of my mostly empty 'test' zoos. I'd imagine it would take a very long time to make all of your birds tankable and I understand why they wouldn't be 'compatible' for lack of a better word)2 points

Back to the old grind, eh? Best of luck this semester, but you won't need luck with that brain and whit of yours.1 point

Well, Bleep! I forgot those "ancient" pix 2012? were cleared to make more room on the server. Just believe me. If I find something I will tag it onto here. I used ghost "statues", a court jester, a queen, walking "Frankie" from several different sites. We have a lot of Autumn and spooky downloads here.1 point

The dancing clown is great for Halloween! In my Halloween zoos I always put various moving figures near a Halloween dance hall or Toodlepop's restaurant that plays the song "Tequila". Quick example off the top of my head is Screenshots forum at the top is "City Needs Help: Anytime Contest". There are Fall/Halloween pix. It would be terrific to have new costumed dancers with new moves!1 point

This is how I'm going to describe it from now on. And of course, you avoid making eye contact, you don't want to chance waking it up.1 point

That is too funny. I can absolutely relate to your experience with old Victorian-era porcelain dolls though...Mom and all of my aunts would have their dressers infected with them. I hated it and to this day I avoid making eye contact if I see one of those dolls 🤣1 point

I'll download the file to save for posterity, but it'll be labeled "Warning! Clown!". I also have issues with old Victorian-Era porcelain dolls. :-I hmm Maybe I just have issues...1 point

Stopping point for tonight. The test animation was fun but mostly I wanted to see what it would look like as pixel art: It needs a lot of tweaking but I'm pretty happy with it. It will be a little smaller so it should blend in with the other guest sprites I hope. Next step is to get it inside of the stand and animate proper vendor animations.1 point

Argentavis & Cuban owl were resized as suggested by Hawkkeye... Also, when I was working with the lodge shelter, I learnt how to give them a brighter appearance to textures so they don't look faint or blurry1 point
-
Oh WOW yeah this'll definitely cut down on space I didn't even notice anything off or wrong with the textures but Argentavis specifically is a big straight upgrade.1 point

Nice! Will be interesting to see how many kilobytes you'll be saving too Actually I have zero idea if Zoot keeps any color data outside of what's already within frame so that's probably a silly statement. I noticed the Cuban Giant Owl looks brighter in color too. Are you doing graphics updates as well?1 point
-
Welp, this is what I know so far... It seems that Tyrannoes are not centered because I loaded the graphics in zoot without cropping them before... So, I'm reworking them with an autocrop feature and after that I'm converting them to indexed... For some reason, cropping an indexed pic is as slow as a river of mud... So I crop them before turning them to indexed, which gave me the oportunity to rework their texture in the process, which is curiously even faster than only converting to indexed the whole graphic... After several fail tests, these are some results by now: Argentavis Cuban Giant Owl Titanis So... What is next? Now I gotta load these new graphics in Zoot... It should be now possible to recover the animal shadows and the center position of the icon and arrow at the same time... The only con is that I gotta fix every frame rotation... At least I'm saving time with the cropping step, because rotations are not hard but will definitively slow down all my projects Every UFO animal will have its rework!1 point

And if you lower that counter and the opening is too b8ig to your liking you could hang a balloon at the top like you see the merchandise so to say1 point

Not a good idea as you will get trapped animals as SavannahJan will confirm. Just do the one entrance and then do some scenery versions that can be used for the add ons. That way you also won't get animals complaining about "too many shelters" either. Also before releasing it can you please send it to me so I can check the configuring.1 point
-
Maybe there's different sizes of the main shelter, like 1x1, 1x2, 2x2, like the other shelters in the game? It's a good call to make other beaver wood dam stuff tho rather than make the shelter itself one giant thing yeah1 point
-
That looks great! I've thought about a beaver lodge for a while now ever since I've read Vondell's post about it. Would one be placeable on water and can animals swim up to it to enter? That would be cool!1 point

I took it down because I want to rework it. I also took down my Hector´s dolphin, bull shark and minke whale, because Khaydar´s made better version of them with custom models. Here is shephard. white shepherd.ztd1 point

Here's a few pics from my zoo. Guests can visit the lab...and then see all the hands that escaped... Arachnophobes had better avoid this area... Stop by the cemetary and pay your respects...but be careful to avoid the wraiths! Fancy a swim? Be careful! Want something a little less spooky? Stop by the pumpkin patch! And for our bat loving friends, grab a bite and gain some knowledge! And here are the overviews...1 point

My zoo was Black and Gold with touches of Burgundy. I decided on a brighter Halloween zoo this year because the last one I did was so dark and dreary and I really didnt like it much. Here are the five overhead screens, I have a lot more screens that are closeups, but just these five are over 10 megs and I dont want to overload the forum. The Waterpark and Halloween corner: Oriental and Halloween corner: Playground and Skeleton corner: Zen Garden and Harvest corner: Central Graveyard and Halloween Monsters area:1 point

I hate to knit-pick again, but the clown's arms seem too skinny. You might want to give him some dumbbells so he can bulk-up. Love your dance moves, though! What Fountain is talking about reminds me of "people" I wanted to make, like a storyteller and a chalk artist. A break dancer would have fit in nicely with that group. PS: I got to the final animations with my chalk artist if anyone wants to download that zip on my projects thread and make it a working download. EDIT: Nevermind ... the attachment with my files in it is gone.0 points
