(Designer)VeganCannibalism
Oh, those are gorgeous! I too would love some more muted/earthy palettes in the game. That #59696e is pretty close to the color of my bedroom and bathroom, actually. :D Also, that octagonal gazebo concept sounds like it could be really beautiful! Especially if it were possible to have a version with ivy climbing up the sides.
YoungerPrinceLothric
I know, right? They're gorgeous! I think if someone used these colors on the dinosaur fences I'd be over the moon! (Yes I know a recolor mod for the dino fences already exists, but MANY of those recolors are bright neon and i can't see myself using them.)
(Designer)Particle
YPL, I appreciate you selecting some example colors, I'll see what I can do. :) So I actually have to leave town for the weekend, and instead of trying to hurry this colorswap pack out the door, I decided it would be good to give you all the pack and let you play with it for a few days, because really no one has ever released a mod with colorswapping in it, so this is sort of a good thing to test, I think. Here is the pack as it stands now: And here it is: particle_COLORSWAP_PACK1_test1.ztd Let me know if you have issues or comments please! Enjoy! Just remember the final pack will have about 5 more items in it! Also if there is anyone out there trying to do colorswap scenery, and running into issues, then feel free to ask me how to do it! I don't want to be the only person who knows how this works, that is just how it has worked out. Personally I would love to see a few more people doing this just so I can get some more mods with colorswapping! Sometime in the next week I will post a few more pics of what it looks like in ztstudio when I do this, but for now, you can pick apart the ztd above to get an idea of how the code looks, and how the graphics look after I do the color squashing. :) 2

(Designer)Z.Z.
Oh cool, is that an in addition to or a replaces in game object?
(Designer)Particle
That one is in addition to the in game object. The benches are the only colorswap objects I've made so far that, for them to work, they must be hacks, (ie they replace the old benches). I wasn't sure how hard it would be to do animations and colorswap on those animations, but it turned out to be no problem. This was basically for me the final litmus test. I'm thinking the sky is the limit. Can't wait to do some buildings now! But I've learned a lot of useful things doing this pack, so it was totally worth it. There will always be some graphics that just don't lend themselves well to doing colorswap, simply because you have to crunch the colors to 16 and 8, but, there have been some things that surprised me, like this fountain turned out pretty nice considering I crunched the whole image from 256 colors to 32. What I did was make the base 8 colors for the secondary color, and then for the primary color I did the spout as 8 colors, and the pool as 8 colors, for a total of 16 colors. The reason I did it that way was I wanted the spout to be the lightest 8 colors in the 16 color palette, and the pool to be the darker colors. And you can see that it worked out perfectly, (although if the entire palette is a dark color, then you can't really see this as good as when you use a light color), for example, in the top row, third from left, you see the primary color is sky blue, and the spout is a much lighter color than the pool. And also if you're wondering what the last 8 colors were those were for the coins in the pool. Here is what it looks like in ztstudio. You can see how I sorted the palette. The first color is of course the green, which is for the transparency. Next comes the colors that won't be swapped (the gold and grey) then the primary color (blues), and lastly the secondary color (purples). It took me 3 times to get this looking right, but again, it was a great experiment and I am pretty happy with the results.
(Designer)VeganCannibalism
Ooh, nice! I can see the reddish water looking very nice in a Halloween or horror zoo! :D
