(Admin)Savannahjan Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Excellent! I love to see you young minds creating.
Truly_happy Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Glad to see someone working on that red panda. :) It is such a beauty.
jbl89 Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Currently you only see the male, there were no animations for a young yet. Vondell and I are discussing the way to go. Personally I'm a bit afraid the young might be too small, but we'll figure something out. So we're working on it, but there's still some stuff we both need to do.
(Designer)Vondell Posted October 6, 2016 Author Posted October 6, 2016 a familiar face! jbl and I are working in tandem on moving this little critter along! i've just built an entirely new workstation PC that can handle 3D work again, so I'm catching up on some very missed time.
(Admin)Cricket Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Nice work!! Looking forward to this little critter :)
jbl89 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 And it has been a pleasure to work in tandem with such a great graphic designer! We've both streamlined our processes. Vondell has a new PC now, I've rewritten some parts of ZT Studio to make it much faster than before. Those things should allow us to spare quite some time if we continue to collaborate. We'll only have to focus on the key parts of creating a new animal: the actual designing and the configuration. No more tedious work like we would have had to with APE and/or ZOOT. Vondell has rendered a few additional animations which were needed (eat, lie down). I've been tweaking the configuration a bit more and we definitely want the Red Panda's cry in game as well (check! :) ). I'm particularly looking forward to share his great unique addition to ZT1! Also, we settled on how to approach the baby version. The adult version is what you can see earlier in this thread. A smaller baby would become too tiny in our opinion. But Vondell made a good remark: the baby's are mostly lighter. So that's how we'll tackle this, and it was a great test case. The young's graphics were rendered from exactly the same images as the adult, we didn't change them at all. Using ZT Studio, we just did a little trick to replace the young's color palette afterwards.
(Admin)Savannahjan Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 What a wonderful little guy! Fabulous work, talented young designers here!
