(Trustee)ZooGrammy Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 The crystal cave area is very unique
Firehawke Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Love the crystal cave and the swamp looks fun!
Kreek Posted November 20, 2014 Author Posted November 20, 2014 Thank you! I promised you some close ups, so here they are. In front Trout tank, in back Manatees and Asian Elephants Turtle exhibit wrapped around Restaurant. Grizzle bear exhibit Chrystal tank with Manta rays Overview Christal cave I did a lot of work on the swamp area today. Pic's will follow soon!
(Trustee)ZooGrammy Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Again you have created some new ideas. The walk area around the tank and the steps to the tank are very nice. Snagged a picture. Also hadn't used the fence like that to make a bridge in the eating area.
Kreek Posted November 21, 2014 Author Posted November 21, 2014 Happy to inspire, Zoogrammy! I like the way the 'bridges' turned out too. I hadn't expected it would work to be honest. Here's some more screens. Steps up to the swampy area. We go left where's the blue heron's exhibit. Passing the petting zoo we follow the boarded path through the swamp and visit the swamp dear exhibit. At the end of the path there's a rest and relaxation area. The tank and exhibit are home to the European otter. I created a little haven in the middle of the swamp surrounded by bamboo where you can take a little boat trip. In front is the wading birds exhibit. I put them in because I thought the sounds they are making are perfect for this area. The south side of the swamp isn't finished yet, so I've closed off that path for now. I always love the part where I finish (part of) an area and can let the guests in. As soon as they say 'this area is quite lovely' I'm happy as a kitten. Silly huh... but guest happiness is in the nineties and the zoo is making good money. An area like this does pose a problem when it comes to restaurants and toilets and such. In order not to mess up the landscaping too much I mostly use the two tiled underground restaurant or the restaurant doors. Hope you like what I've done so far. Here's a couple of overviews.
Firehawke Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Love your foliage choices and the colors you're using!

fountain Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Remarkable landscaping and integration with the exhibits and attractions!
